EXTRA GENTLE/STILLNESS PRACTICES
Yin
Yin yoga is characterized by holding passive poses for several minutes at a time to soften the connective tissue of the body. These postures are often seated or reclined. Although there are some poses for the upper extremities, the majority of the postures address the middle and lower parts of the body. This class is appropriate for all practitioners, regardless of experience.
Gentle + Yin
In this hybrid class, you will spend time practicing two distinct styles of yoga. Yin is characterized by holding passive poses for several minutes at a time to soften the connective tissue of the body. After the yin poses, gentle flowing movement will allow for a sense of freedom in the joints.
Reiki Restore
Restorative yoga is a stillness practice, during which props are used to fully support the body in restful positions. Meditative techniques and breath work allow for the subtle experience to deepen. This practice is highly accessible and nurturing, and has great benefit for anyone wishing to slow down and find a sense of calm and relaxation. Healing Reiki energy is shared with practitioners via the palms of the hands.
Gentle + Restore
This class is its own unique gem, combining the benefits of two nurturing styles of yoga. A different theme is shared each week and is woven into the experience through guided meditation and intention setting.
Therapeutic Yoga
This class uses yoga therapy techniques to bring awareness to parts of the body that need special attention, such as the joints, hips, and spine. Your breath will guide movement for slow, purposeful, and easeful postures both standing and sitting on the mat. Each class ends with the deeply relaxing guided meditation of Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep).
